Brisbane, Australia – Strong Digital is pleased to announce that they have been selected as a finalist for two awards at the 2023 18th Annual Australian Web Awards (AWA). The company has been nominated in the categories of ‘Not for Profit’ and ‘Entertainment & Events’ for their outstanding work on the Virtus Oceania Asia Games 2022 (OA Games 2022) website. The OA Games is an international multi-sport competition in the Oceania Asia region for elite athletes with intellectual impairment.
The nominations recognise Strong Digital’s efforts in creating an inclusive website for the Games which was held in November 2022. The website was designed to provide essential information in multiple languages, as well as to make it accessible to a wide range of impairments, including visual, intellectual, and physical.
The theme of the OA Games was inclusion through sport, so Strong Digital set out to ensure the design was as inclusive as possible. At every part of the design process accessibility was always the first consideration, implementing several best practice measures such as accessible colour palettes to assist low-vision & vision impaired people, and well structured pages so they can be interpreted by screen readers. By doing the basics right, Strong Digital was able to ensure that the website was accessible to all attendees, regardless of their abilities. This commitment to accessibility has been recognised by the positive feedback from the athletes and their families, who found the website easy to use and navigate.
Strong Digital’s team worked closely with the team from OA Games to create a website that reflected the organisation’s brand and provided a seamless user experience for athletes and attendees.

The 18th Annual Australian Web Awards will be held on May 20th, 2023, and winners will be announced at the event. The awards recognise outstanding web development, design, and user experience achievements, and are a prestigious honour in the Australian digital industry.
