Strong Digital’s Inspiring Weekend at the Australian Web Awards 2023
We had an unforgettable time in Sydney as a few members of the Strong team jetted off to attend this years Aus Web Awards.
This past weekend, Strong Digital embarked on an exciting journey to Sydney, where we had the privilege of attending the prestigious Australian Web Awards. It was a remarkable experience filled with inspiration, camaraderie, and the celebration of digital excellence.
Recognised for Excellence: Not-for-profit and Entertainment and Events
We were thrilled to discover that Strong Digital had been chosen as a finalist in two distinct categories at the Australian Web Awards: Not-for-profit and Entertainment and Events. These nominations recognised the unwavering dedication and commitment we poured into creating an inclusive website for the Virtus Oceania Asia Games 2022.
Why Strong Digital Earned Nominations
The nominations we received for the Australian Web Awards were a testament to Strong Digital’s tireless efforts in crafting a website that embraced inclusivity on various fronts. Our primary objective was to ensure the Games’ website provided essential information in multiple languages and was accessible to individuals with a diverse range of impairments, including visual, intellectual, and physical challenges.
We made accessibility a top priority during the website’s development. We utilised cutting-edge technology and design techniques to ensure that individuals with impairments could effortlessly navigate the website, regardless of their specific challenges. Balancing vibrancy and excitement, we ensured that the website remained visually appealing while maintaining optimal legibility for those with low or reduced vision and colour blindness.
Additionally, we recognised the significance of linguistic diversity and strived to create an environment where individuals from different backgrounds could easily access vital information by incorporating multiple languages into the website’s design.
We aimed to foster a sense of inclusivity and make a valuable contribution to the Games’ mission of embracing diversity.
A Humbling Recap
While we did not secure an award at the Australian Web Awards, the experience was undeniably humbling and awe-inspiring. Witnessing our fellow finalists’ extraordinary talent and sheer caliber left us in awe.
