Get up to 50% off a new website
The Queensland Government will reimburse eligible businesses up to 50% of the cost of a new website through their digital grants scheme.
Please excuse the click-baity headline, but we just really wanted to let you know how you can get up to 50% off a brand new website. To support Queensland small businesses, the state government occasionally offers a digital grant that offers eligible businesses up to $10,000 in matched funding towards the purchase of hardware, software and services.
The digital grant is opening for applications on the 11th November 2019, and will close 5pm on the 10th December.
So what does that mean for my new website?
The funding is ‘matched funding’, which basically means they will pay 50% of your costs up to the total grant amount of $10,000. Meaning that if you purchase a brand new $20,000 website, the government will chip in $10,000 meaning a nice 50% discount!
The payment acts as a reimbursement, successful applicants will be reimbursed 50% of the total project cost after the project has been completed. Therefore your business must be in a position to pay the full project amount upfront, to receive a reimbursement. To receive the reimbursement, applicants must:
- Complete and submit an acquittal report through SmartyGrants
- Issue a valid tax invoice to the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training
- Submit copies of supplier invoices and proof of purchase for the total project cost.
Are you eligible?
As with anything, there are a number of criteria that apply, there are a lot of small businesses in Queensland that will be covered by these:
- Fewer than 20 employees
- ABN & registered for GST
- Have Queensland headquarters
- Turnover of $2M or less
- Not be insolvent
Do I have to do the application myself?
No you don’t! As a business owner your time is precious, we can refer you to a partner that will be able to apply for this grant on your behalf for a small fee. They have a 70% success rate in their applications receiving grants. But you can also lodge the application yourself.
